My name is Cody Martin. I am a husband, a father, an avid financial information consumer, and… The Cash-Strapped Dad. The idiom “strapped for cash” originates from the mid-1800s and means “in need of money.”
I live in the wonderfully humid Houston area with my wife, two girls, a boy, a cat, and dog. I strive every day to give my family everything they need, and then I take a nap in my recliner.
Probably like most people I’ve always wanted to be rich, but rich means different things to almost everyone. We can all agree that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are rich. Can we attain that level? Probably not most of us, but I’m determined not to let that stop me from having the financial freedom that I want.
My definition of being rich is being able to afford my immediate bills, pay for a vacation yearly or the ability to travel and get my kids to their grandparents; I also want to be able to let my wife explore her entrepreneurial gifts, and pay for the things she needs.
Being rich isn’t always about making more money, sometimes it’s knowing our limit. Join me, and let’s see if we can limit our spending while exploring the limitless potential we have to be rich!
